Georgia Limited Driving Permits
The Georgia Department of Driver Services issues Limited Driving Permits for certain suspensions, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 375-3-3-.10. These permits are only issued in cases of a demonstrated extreme hardship and they are subject to driving restrictions which are consistent with the driver’s hardship. They are used to allow the permit holder to drive to and from work, school, medical appointments, substance abuse treatment, or a court-ordered DUI drug or alcohol treatment program.
Georgia Limited Driving Permits are not available to non-residents or those who have never been licensed in Georgia. Also, like the Mass. DOT, the Georgia Department of Driver Services will not issue any type of hardship license for non-payment of child support.
