Attorney Brian E. Simoneau has been practicing law in Massachusetts since 2001. He is admitted in both Massachusetts State Courts and the United States District Court for the First District of Massachusetts. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Attorney Simoneau worked as a police officer, where he investigated accidents, issued traffic citations, and made arrests for motor vehicle violations and crimes such as operating under the influence of alcohol. As a police officer, Attorney Simoneau was certified as a traffic radar operator and infrared breath test operator. He was also certified to administer standardized DUI field sobriety tests based on the course developed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Attorney Simoneau regularly appears before the Driver Control Unit of the Registry of Motor Vehicles, RMV Hearings Officers, the Division of Insurance Board of Appeal, and District, Superior and Appellate Courts throughout Massachusetts. He was honored and privileged to have asked to write the amicus brief in the case of Souza v. Registrar of Motor Vehicles, wherein the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that the Registry of Motor Vehicles had been improperly suspended the licenses of thousands of drivers for having refused to submit to breathalyzer tests.

Attorney Brian E. Simoneau has years of experience in successfully challenging driver’s license revocations and suspensions as well as other adverse action taken by the Registry Branch of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. He practices extensively before the Board of Appeal on Liability Policies and Bonds of the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation as well as in District and Superior Courts located in Middlesex, Suffolk, and Worcester Counties.
